Microsoft's building a Netflix for Games-esque platform! 👀

In an age when Redditors are hyping up gaming retailers like Gamestop, Microsoft is developing dedicated streaming hardware that people will be able to hook up to their TVs to use its Netflix-like cloud gaming service.

The Game-as-a-service business model isn’t new. It’s been around since the early days of online gaming and brought with it in-game purchases, skins, characters and a host of customizations.

The company is betting the future of video games will be a subscription-based model where people pay a certain amount of money each month to get access to a plethora of titles.

This has implications for a range of stocks;

Activision, Mobile Gaming Firms, Apple (because of a potential clash with its game-revenue from the App Store) and much more.
