How would you know if the stocks is worth buying for?

You could either go the fundamentals route (look at financial ratios, comparable companies, benchmark valuations, analyst reports) and gauge potential or, instead, go the momentum route (will there be more buying than selling in this stock; owing to anticipated performance, industry tailwinds) beause the market, is, ultimately, a lot about supply and demand.
